Are you ready for a mental glow up?
I’ve been feeling kinda down since the pandemic, and I’m sure many of you have too. Even over the last year or so I’ve let myself go. I haven’t had any energy, and I haven’t had any motivation.
This is the perfect time to turn our lives around.
It’s time to start working on ourselves to be more confident and happy. Here is a 30 day self improvement challenge that will change your life.
(Don’t forget the free printable checklist to go along with this 30 day self improvement challenge!)
30 Day Self Improvement Challenge
Day 1: Set Goals for this Challenge
First of all, you need to set some goals for this challenge. It’s important to set goals so you have something specific to work towards and motivate you. Do you want to read more books? Have a more positive outlook? Be more confident?
Day 2: Create a Productive and Stress-free Morning Routine
One of the top ways to experience personal growth is to create a productive and stress-free morning routine. Check out how to create a successful morning routine.
Day 3: Meditate for at Least 5 Minutes
Meditation is a-mazing for you. You should definitely make it a part of your morning routine. It starts your day by reducing any anxiety you might have.
Day 4: Write Down 3 Things You’re Grateful For
Write down 3 things you’re grateful once per week or whatever benefits you the most. This gets you thinking about the small positive things in your life that’ll help you create a more positive outlook.
(You can also get a free printable gratitude planner here!
Day 5: Start Reading a Self Help Book
This is one of the best things I’ve done for personal development since the pandemic started. These are some of the best self improvement books that changed my life.
Day 6: Do Something Creative
Learning how to adapt and problem solve are important parts of self improvement. Not to mention, fun! Do something creative to develop these skills and take a break from the normal. This could be anything from painting a picture to brainstorming ideas. You can even turn doing something creative into making money.
Day 7: Determine What Your Career Goals Are
Whether you have a career or not, part of your journey should be deciding what your career goals are. What do you want to do with your life? What is fulfilling to you? What goals do you want to meet within your career?
Day 8: Write Down 3 Things you Want to Get Done this Week
If you haven’t already noticed, goals are super important for self improvement. Write down 3 things you want to get done this week.
Day 9: Make a Vision Board
Make a vision board to help you see your goals. Throw some quotes on there. Put pictures of what you envision your life looking like. You can set it as your phone background or even get a poster board and print out pictures. This is one of my favorites in the 30 day self improvement challenge.
Day 10: Start a Relaxing Nightly Routine
Like the morning routine, your nightly routine is just as important. This could be skincare, yoga, or just getting relaxed. Also, remember to get a good night of sleep!
Day 11: Declutter your Home
Decluttering your home will make you feel so much better. Start with one room a day and slowly work your way around your house. You’ll feel a ton better and be more productive.
Day 12: Answer 3 Self Discovery Prompts
To grow and become your best self, you have to take a good look at yourself first. Really get to know yourself. You can use these self discovery prompts to do that.
Day 13: Listen to an Educational Podcast
Try switching it up and listening to an educational podcast. You can even listen to a podcast about self improvement!
Day 14: Do Yoga for 30 Minutes
Like meditation, yoga is amazing for your mental health. There are some awesome resources if you’re a beginner yogi. My personal favorite is Yoga with Adriene.
Day 15: Spend 30 Minutes Outside
Nature is known to boost your mood and is great for the soul. Spend 30 minutes outside, even if it’s just sitting on your porch.
Day 16: Try a New Hobby
Another part of discovering yourself is finding out your likes and dislikes. You could have a hobby you never realized you’d love if you didn’t try it.
Day 17: Write Down 3 Things You Want to Improve About Yourself
Self improvement (as the name implies) is all about working on yourself to be the person you want to be. Write down 3 things you want to improve about yourself and think of a plan to work on these things.
Day 18: Determine Where You Want to be in 5 or 10 Years
Take a look at the big picture. Where do you want to be in 5 years? In 10 years? Start planning now. How are you going to get there?
Day 19: Go Out and Do Something Alone
One thing that I realized was super important during the 30 day self improvement challenge was learning how to be comfortable with myself. I used to be uncomfortable going in to eat, or if no one else was going on a trip I wouldn’t go. Learn how to be happy alone so you don’t miss out. I guarantee you’ll be a lot happier overall when you’re happy by yourself.
Day 20: Write in a Journal
Writing in a journal is another helpful thing you can do for mental health. You can journal about whatever you want. You can have a manifestation journal or simply write about how you’re feeling.
Day 21: Make a Bucket List of Things You Want to Achieve
This one’s self explanatory. Make a bucket list of all of the things you want to do in life- and work on checking that off.
Day 22: Do Something out of your Comfort Zone
This goes along with the bucket list. Do at least one thing out of your comfort zone. If you’re in your comfort zone, you’re not growing.
Day 23: Travel to a New Place
Traveling to a new place is a great way to experience personal growth. You’ll learn new things about the area, the people, and yourself. Even if it’s somewhere in your town you’ve never been before, you can still get a new perspective.
Day 24: Eat Clean
You may not realize it, but eating clean gives you more clarity, energy, and just makes you feel better.
Day 25: Exercise and Stretch for at least 30 Minutes Each
If you truly want self improvement, you’ve gotta fit exercise and stretching in there somewhere. Exercise boosts your mood, and is super important as a part of the 30 day self improvement challenge.
Day 26: Set Goals for the rest of the Year
Keep on setting those goals. Career goals. Personal goals. Finance goals. Life goals. Fitness goals. All the goals.
Day 27: Learn Something New
As a part of personal growth, you should always be learning something new. Pull out your phone and do a little research on something you want to know more about.
Day 28: Plan Your Finances
Bills=stress. Stress=unhappy. As a part of your personal development journey, you also have to think about finances. This is one of the top things that stress people out, so if you have your finances under control, you won’t be as stressed (AKA you’ll be happier).
Day 29: Write Down your Dream- And How to Achieve It
What do you want out of life? What is it that you would regret not doing on your death bed? What are your dreams? Figure it out and make it happen. Set up a plan for how you’re going to make it happen.
Day 30: Don’t Get on your Phone
Last but not least, don’t get on your phone. Spend at least a day without it and see how it feels. You’ll have more quality time doing what you love.
