This isn’t normally the kind of post I write, but I wanted to take the time to think about the things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving.
The past year has been a rough one for a lot of us.
One thing I’ve come to find out through my 30 day personal growth challenge is how important it is to find things to be grateful for.
One of the best tips for when you’re in a slump is to think of things you’re grateful for and even write it in a journal.
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to make consciously being grateful a part of your morning routine.
Now let’s get into the things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving 2020.
Things I’m Thankful For
Family
The thing I’m most grateful for is my family. They’ve always supported me through everything. They push me to be my best, and I wouldn’t have graduated college and made it through clinicals without them. They don’t hesitate when I need or want anything. I moved in with my fiance a couple of months ago and it’s been a huge change. I’m so grateful I get to spend my life with someone so wonderful.
Health
I’ve been lucky so far this year and haven’t had COVID. Although I’m dealing with a sinus infection, I have to be thankful for my health this year. This is something I take for granted, and when I’m thinking of things I’m grateful for, this always comes to mind.
Opportunity
Another thing I’m grateful for is opportunity. I’ve had the opportunity to graduate from college this year. I’ve had the opportunity to start this blog. This year has been full of opportunities for me.
Lessons Learned
At the time, it’s hard to be grateful, but looking back I’m thankful for all of the lessons I’ve learned. When I was going through a hard time, there was usually some sort of lesson that came out of it. Whether things happen for a reason or not, there is usually something that can come out of it.
Personal Growth
I spent a lot of time at home because of COVID, and that gave me a lot of time to think and experience new perspectives. In a way, I started a personal growth journey. I read a few self help books and I really feel like I found myself. I’ll keep developing and bettering myself, but I’m grateful for my growth this past year.
Adventure
Cooking. Traveling. Crafts. Trying new things. I’m thankful for all of the adventures this year brought me.
I started off the year by taking a trip to Nashville for the first time. I went hiking in a few different places, one of the new places being Dog Slaughter Falls. I went to an ABBA tribute band concert. I tried skateboarding. I moved in with my fiance. There are too many adventures to name, but these were some of my favorites that I’m thankful I got to experience.
Of course I’m thankful for much much more, but these were things that came to mind first.
I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving!
