If the thought of spending almost all of your time at work talking to people makes you cringe, it might be time to start a side hustle that doesn’t require that much talking.
I know if I spend even just an hour talking to people, I feel absolutely drained. Some people thrive in environments where there’s a lot of interaction, but some of us don’t and that’s okay.
I didn’t realize it back when I was thinking about what I wanted to do for a career, but there are some jobs that are better suited towards introverts. All of the ways to make money that I have listed include high-paying jobs for introverts and some can be done on top of your job as a side hustle.
Even if you have no experience or need to make money fast, these are the best jobs and side hustle ideas for introverts.
Keep in mind that most of these jobs for introverts still require some talking, but not as much as most other jobs.
Don’t forget to pin this for later so you can come back to it!
Legitimate Side Hustle Ideas for Introverts
Blogging
My favorite side hustle idea for introverts in this list is blogging (cause that’s what I do! ;))
The downside to blogging is that it takes time to build and grow your traffic (and income).
But the upside is that you get to work from home and be your own boss.
If you want your blog to be successful, you will have to engage with your audience, but what I love about blogging is that you can do that completely online through writing.
Just to show you how much money you could possibly make blogging, these are some blog income reports I like to read.
- Cassie Scroggins broke $3,000/month
- Fit Mommy in Heels made $11,562 in one month
- Caroline Vencil made over $25,000 in one month
- Ell from Boss Girl Bloggers made $80,000
- It’s a Lovely Life made $2,233,236 in 2019
You can make money blogging through ad revenue, sponsored posts, and affiliate marketing.

Bluehost has some great deals if you’re ready to get hosting for your new blog.
Artist
If you want to use your job as a creative outlet, becoming an artist is perfect.
There are so many things you could do, like jewelry, pottery, and paintings. The only time you’ll really need to interact with people is customer service depending on the service you use to sell your art.

Graphic Design
Another job that’s perfect for creative introverts is graphic design.
You can even start your own graphic design service so you can be your own boss.
Most of your time will be spent creating logos, websites, merchandise, etc.
The beauty of the majority of your work being on a computer is that you can work from home.
Virtual Assistant
Virtual assistants do tasks for businesses or individuals through a computer or phone. One of the most common things they do is manage your email and calendar, make appointments, and other digital marketing tasks.
There are all kinds of different virtual assistants, and some might be better for introverts. You can be a Pinterest virtual assistant, bookkeeper virtual assistant, real estate virtual assistant, and pretty much any other kind you could think of.
You can learn how to become a virtual assistant with the 30 Days or Less to Virtual Assistant Success course.
Freelance Writer
Freelance writing is one of the best side hustle ideas for introverts because you work for yourself. You seek out clients to write for or offer your services.
A lot of people use platforms like Upwork or Fivver to showcase your services and find clients.
You can read about a woman who made $2.4 million selling freelance services on Fiverr here.
Proofreading
If you enjoy spotting errors and correcting them, proofreading or editing is for you!
Proofreading is looking for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. An editor takes it a step further and makes changes to the actual content.
Like many of the other side hustles for introverts, you can market your services on Fivver or Upwork.
You can also set up your own website and market your services from there.
If you want resources for starting a proofreading business, Caitlin Pyle put together an amazing course on proofreading. She not only teaches you about the skills needed to proofread, but also how to start your own proofreading business!
Caitlin’s put together a free online workshop that answers all of the most common
questions about becoming a proofreader, and she even shows you how to use the most popular tools used by proofreaders around the world.

Affiliate Marketing
I mentioned affiliate marketing before when I talked about blogging, but you can also do affiliate marketing without a blog.
Affiliate marketing is when you promote a product and get paid a commission when someone buys the product or service using your link.
All you have to do is promote the affiliate on social media. You could even set up ads on Google, Pinterest, or Facebook to make sure your posts get seen.
If you’re a blogger, you can write a blog post that reviews the product, and even throw your link in other places where it makes sense.
My favorite affiliate market programs for beginners are Clickbank and Flexoffers.
If you want to learn more about how to make money with affiliate marketing, Clickbank even has its own course that you can access here. <<
Transcription/Captioning
I’ll be honest with you, you don’t make much money with this side gig. It is good for having a little extra pocket money.
How much you make depends on how fast you can type.

Computer Programmer
Computer programming is probably the first thing most people think of when they think of the best jobs for introverts, and it’s for a good reason.
Although you will have to communicate some, that’s not the primary duty of this job.
The best route to becoming a programmer is through college, but there are people out there who have taught themselves and get jobs.
Harvard now offers a class for intro to computer science that can help get your foot in the door.
Another resource to help you get started is Code Academy.
Computer programming is perfect because you can work from home. You could even start your own business doing something like building websites.
Stock Trading
Trading stocks is a job that introverts can do from home.
The downside to trading stocks is that it’s a gamble and requires a good amount of money to start.
If you’re new to stocks, you can invest in ETFs, which are bundles of stocks chosen for you.
For beginners, I highly recommend Robinhood. This is how I got my start and I’ve made a decent amount of money from it considering I haven’t invested that much.
You can sign up for Robinhood and get a free stock here.
Drop Shipping
Drop shipping is another side hustle that requires money to start, probably at least $1,000.
With drop shipping, you own an online storefront, but you don’t keep products in stock. Instead, you send the order straight from your supplier to the customer. For example, if Alibaba is your supplier, when a customer orders from your online store, you would send the product straight from Alibaba to the customer.
Drop shipping can be harder than it sounds because you have to figure out which products would sell and if you would even make a profit.
If you do have a knack for this, then you can actually make a lot of money.
Dog Trainer
As an introvert myself, there isn’t any side hustle idea for introverts I could think of that would be better suited than a dog trainer.
Of course you’d have to talk to the owners, but the majority of your time is spent with dogs. Talk about heaven. 🙂
