Hey everyone!
I recently downloaded the app Bookey, and today I’m really excited to share my thoughts about it with you.
You may have tried out some other reading apps and are wondering if it’s worth it.
I’ll be sharing what Bookey has to offer and what I think about it, so you can make that decision yourself!
Let’s dive right into this Bookey review!
Bookey Review: Is it Worth it?
What is Bookey?
Bookey is an app available to download on IOS that summarizes key ideas of books in 30 minutes of audio and text. There are quite a few categories of best sellers you can choose from, but my favorite is personal development.
What sets Bookey apart from other apps is some of its other features.
Here is what is included when you sign up for Bookey:
- Audio versions of each book
- Mind map for each book
- Download mode
- 500+ titles and 7+ bokeys added each week
- Reading challenges
- Habit tracker
- Reading goals
- Quizzes
How Much Does it Cost?
After the 7-day free trial, Bookey costs $12.99 monthly. You can get an even better deal if you pay the annual price of $79.99. That puts you at $1.53 a week, so it costs even less than your daily Starbucks.
If you think that’s too high of a price, I get it. You can always sign up for the free trial to help you decide.
You can also skip down to the bottom of this post to see if I think it’s worth it.
First Impression of Bookey
When I first signed up, I was impressed with how the app is set up. It was really easy to navigate.
Having categories and learning paths kept it from becoming overwhelming looking through the titles. The learning paths allow you to click on a category you want to learn about, like personal development, and gives you a list of books to read based on your experience.
I clicked on some random books at first to see what features it came with. Right off the bat, I was really impressed with the mind map. I’m a visual person, so I loved seeing the information organized in a way that’s easy to read.
Overall, the whole interface of the app was simple, easy to use, and effective. It’s organized in a way that makes sense and easy to find.

Things I Liked about Bookey
Now that we’ve gone over what the app is all about and my first impression, let’s get into what I liked about it.
- The interface is very user-friendly, like I mentioned in my first impression
- It has both text and audio versions of the summaries
- It provides all of the key information you need from the books
- You can use mind maps and quizzes to help you remember what you read
- It saves me a ton of time and I’ve been able to read so many more books that I’ve always wanted to but never have had time
- You can set reading goals and use the habit tracker to stay on top of your growth
- The thing I love most about the app is that is has a personal development category (my favorite thing to read)
Things I Didn’t Like about Bookey
Now that I’ve mentioned things I liked about Bookey, we have to cover the bad. Not going to lie, there isn’t really much I don’t like about it.
There are some titles that I wish were on there, but they’re working on adding new titles weekly.
Of course when you’re reading book summaries, you could be missing out on smaller parts of the reading that’s still valuable, but that’s what you sacrifice for spending less time reading.
Bookey Review: Is it Worth it?
I hope you liked this Bookey review and you know exactly what you’re getting.
Is Bookey worth it? My answer is yes!
I’m so happy I decided to download the app. I know most of us are really busy people, and it has helped me learn and grow on top of working, blogging, and studying.
I never have time to read anymore, but this makes it faster and easier, and I learn just as much as if I were to sit down and read the whole book.
If you’re still on the fence about whether to invest in this app or not, you can always try the free 7 day trial yourself and see what you think.
I definitely knew this was something I wanted to use on the first day of my free trial.
I’ve read more books than I have in probably a year because it gives me more time. Usually I forget most of what I’ve read just a couple of weeks later, but using the mind maps helps me remember what I’m reading.
If you’re like me and you struggle to find time to read, you should at least give it a try.
