Blogging can be hard. It’s even harder when you have a full-time job.
Blogging itself is like a full-time job.
It can be super overwhelming trying to find time to work on your blog when you’re already killed out from your job.
I started my blog when I was in college and started a full-time internship while starting some other side hustles at the same time.
It was way too much to handle, and I just ended up quitting my blog for a while.
I still wonder how much further along my blog would be today if I had managed my time better, and I don’t want you to make the same mistake I did.

Make Time for Yourself
One of the best tips for balancing blogging and working full-time is to make time for yourself.
It’s easy to get carried away and just work every chance that you get without making time for self care.
If you keep going on like that, you’re sure to get burned out and either not enjoy your work anymore or quit.
Take an hour a day to just relax, unwind, and take care of yourself.
Create a Blog Schedule
If you’re having trouble finding time to blog and work, create a blog schedule.
Set aside blocks of time to work on your blog and social media.
I like using a blog planner to keep everything organized.

If you don’t like working long hours after getting home from work, spend a little time each day on it, and then even more time on the weekends.
Sometimes I work on it a little at a time, but sometimes I like to get it all done in one day.
One of my favorite ways to do this on Pinterest is creating images in batches.
Post Less Often
If you’re trying to get more blog traffic by writing a bunch of blog posts 2-3 times per week, you don’t have to do that.
That’s a lot of blog posts, and it makes it challenging to balance blogging and a full-time job.
It’s completely okay to post once a week or even once a month.
The key to posting less often is to post better quality content.
Declutter your Space
It’s hard to be productive when you have a mess around you.
You can be more efficient working on your blog if you feel more productive.
Try decluttering your office space to get more done.
Prioritize
I know you probably want to work on your blog all of the time, but sometimes you have to prioritize.
First, think about your well-being. That’s what comes first. Prioritize yourself first.
Is your full-time job your main source of income? If you really need to focus on work, finish that before you work on your blog.
There are also things you can prioritize when you’re working on your blog to help you balance working and blogging.
Is it more important to write your next blog post or plan out your social media for the month?
Use the Right Resources
Using the right resources can save you a lot of time. I spent hours and hours researching trying to figure out all of the blog stuff.
Some resources are better than others save you a lot of time spent researching.
There are also resources that can post to social media for you so you don’t have to worry about that every single day.

BlueHost– If you’re just looking into starting a blog, you’ll need hosting. BlueHost is the cheapest and best option for busy bloggers.
Set Realistic Goals
You should be setting goals for your blog right off the bat, but it’s easy to get caught up in becoming successful.
Set shorter term and more realistic goals to keep you from getting overwhelmed and burned out.
Set a certain amount of time to work on your blog and check off your goals within reason.
Focus on One Social Media Platform
A lot of bloggers use different social media platforms, but those big bloggers that you see have other people posting for them.
If you’re a one man show, it’s almost impossible to work on different social media platforms at the same time.
My favorite platform to start with is Pinterest. Whatever you decide to start with, master that platform and see how much time you spend on it before adding on other social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

Like I said earlier, I started my blog while I was in college. Going to school full-time, plus working makes it really easy to burn out and give up on your blog.
