Do you ever try to go to bed and you just can’t seem to settle in and feel relaxed?
I really like doing a routine before bed that calms me down and gives me some me time.
Instead of laying bed thinking about all of the things that still need done, I can just relax and stay present.
I especially like getting all cozy before bed time when it’s Fall.
It’s the perfect season to snuggle up and get all warm and cozy.
This is also the perfect routine if you’re looking to glow up this Fall.
Here is a relaxing nighttime routine for Fall. Don’t forget to pin for later!
Relaxing Nighttime Routine for Fall
Skincare Routine
My favorite new thing to do is my skincare routine.
I swear my skin has never looked better.
It’s important to really hone in your skincare routine when Fall starts because your skin usually is more dry.
Here is my skincare routine:
AM
- Rinse face with cold water
- Apply vitamin C serum
- Apply moisturizer
PM
- Wash face with gentle foaming cleanser
- Apply retinol serum
- Apply anti-wrinkle under eye cream
- Apply moisturizer
Hair care routine
Now that you’ve done your skincare routine, don’t skip out on hair care!
You will almost always see me with a frizzy messy bun on the top of my head, but taking care of my hair makes me feel so much better.
Apply a hair oil, give yourself a scalp massage, and use a satin pillow cases to prevent hair breakage.
Do Yoga
My favorite time to do yoga is a bit before bed.
I like getting a good stretch in and using breath work to get relaxed.
There are so many reasons you should start doing yoga if you don’t already, like helping with stress.
Meditate
Meditation is another thing I like to do that goes with yoga.
If I’ve had a rough day and I’m feeling anxious, I like to use meditation to push those thoughts away and calm myself down.
There are all kinds of guided meditations on YouTube that are specifically for going to sleep.
Read a Book
If I’m ever struggling to get sleepy, my go to is to read a book. Nothing puts me to sleep faster.
You could read a fall-themed book, like something scary for Halloween.
I also like to read personal development books before bed.
Take a Bath
What’s a relaxing nighttime routine without taking a bath?
Of course for Fall, it’s time to break out the Fall scented bath bombs like pumpkin!
Make your bath nice and warm, put on a good podcast or music, and just chill out.
Use Lavender Lotion
After you get out of your bath, don’t forget to moisturize!
I like using lavender scented lotions at night because it helps relax you.
Watch a Movie
Another part of my nighttime routine is to watch a movie or TV show. Who doesn’t wanna get caught up on Netflix?
For Fall, I’ll watch a fun little Halloween movie like Halloweentown or Hocus Pocus.
Light a Candle
Lighting a candle sets the mood for a relaxing night in. You can light one in the bath, while you’re meditating, or even just while you’re watching TV.
I love using Fall scented Candles, like Hot Maple Toddy or pumpkin spice.
Sit Outside
If you want to incorporate some mindfulness into your routine, take the time to sit outside or go for a walk.
You can take time to reflect on your day or just relax.
I love sitting outside and watching the stars come out.
Put on comfy Pajamas
How are you supposed to chill for the night without comfy pajamas?
When it’s time to unwind for the evening, put on your comfiest pajamas.
In the spirit of Fall, go ahead and break out some Halloween pajamas!
Use an Essential Oil Diffuser
I love using an essential oil diffuser because all of the different scents have so many different uses.
My favorite to use at nighttime is lavender because that helps you calm down for the night, especially paired with the lavender lotion.
Lay in Bed
Of course, as a part of your nighttime routine, you have to lay in bed.
It’s okay to not constantly be productive. I see all of these routines that are constantly about being productive, but that’s not what this relaxing nighttime routine is all about.
Take the time to just lay in bed if that’s what you want to do.
Relaxing Nighttime Routine Summed Up
That wraps up this relaxing nighttime routine! I hope you can use this routine at least a few nights a week this Fall to help you get nice and cozy!
