Today, I’ll be talking all about what a soft life is how an amazing soft life morning routine to transform your life.
It’s time that we start living slower and more intentional.
Everything now is always so rushed and we never take the time to actually mindfully do anything.
I think we’d all be a lot happier if we live with more intention.
Let’s get into exactly what “soft life” means and how to do a soft life morning routine.
What is a Soft Life?
The term soft life started as a trend on Tik Tok. It ” originated in the Nigerian influencer community as slang for living a life of comfort and low stress.”
We’re starting to move away from the hustle and girl boss culture, which I’m kind of happy about because it’s so hard to find the right balance.
Living a life of comfort sounds like a dream.
There’s so many of us who are just in a constant state of fight or flight because we’re always stressed. How can we live a life we love if we’re always fighting just to survive?
Unfortunately for many of us, we still have to work and we’re still going to be stressed.
BUT there are some things we can do to live a soft life and lower stress.

How to Live a Soft Life?
So, how can you live a soft life?
It’s all about finding ways to lower your stress and to make you more comfy.
It’s time to start prioritizing ourselves and making sure we’re taken care of, especially mentally.
One of the hardest parts of living this type of life is trying to balance paying the bills and working and also doing the things that make you happy.
One of the best ways to do that is setting aside time so you can prioritize self care. Even if it’s just 15 minutes a day, schedule that time so you can just relax and do what makes you happy.
You can also do this by incorporating these things into your morning routine.
Here is a soft life morning routine that will transform your life.
Soft Life Morning Routine
Write in a Journal
One of the first things I like to do in the morning to start my day off right is to write in a journal. There are all kinds of different things you can write about in your journal.
I personally love bullet journals. I like to draw mood trackers. There’s a ton of monthly mood trackers on Pinterest! You can also do habit trackers, like how much water you drink, how much you exercise, etc.
Another way to use a journal is to do journal prompts. Some of my favorites are journal prompts to heal your inner child.
Write Down Affirmations
As a part of your journal or separately, you can also write down affirmations.
Affirmations are a great way to bring more positivity in your life. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of thinking negatively all of the time. I fall into this all of the time, especially when I’m going through hard times.
Sometimes we have to take time to intentionally think more positively and realize what we can do with what we already have.
One of the many bad things about thinking negatively is that that itself attracts negatively. If you’re always thinking of the bad things that happen, that’s what you’re going to notice.
But when you start using positive affirmations, you start to grow your confidence and attract what you write down.
Some of my favorite affirmations are all about loving yourself as you are. You can try writing that down or saying it out loud, and slowly you’ll start to believe it more and more.
Morning Skincare Routine
Another way to start your day right is to have a morning skincare routine. I don’t know about you, but I feel so much more relaxed after I do skincare.
Here is my current morning skincare routine.
- Rinse face with cold water (wash using gentle facial cleanser if your prefer)
- Apply vitamin C serum
- Apply moisturizer
- Use a jade roller (if i’m feeling a little extra)
- Apply sunscreen
For some reason, I’ve found that my skin looks and feels a lot better when I just do a rinse instead of washing it in the mornings (unless my face has gotten sweaty or is oily)
Get Dressed
Not going to lie, when I don’t have to work, I’ll stay in my pajamas for most of the morning (if not all day lol). That’s all a part of living a comfy life, right?
If I have things to do, I’ll get dressed next. What you wear is completely up to you. You can wear something comfy or if you want to feel a little more confident, get dressed up a little!
Make Tea/Coffee/Water
One of the best things you can do for your health is drink more water if you don’t already drink much. It’s a great way to start the day!
Alternatively, you can also make yourself a nice cup of tea or coffee to get your day started. Settle in and just relax for the morning, and you’ll really be living a soft life!
Open your Window
When I open up my window on a cool summer morning, I can’t even explain how good that feels. It’s almost like I get a burst of dopamine when I hear the birds singing and feel the cool morning breeze.
Give it a try and see how you feel!
Diffuse Essential Oils
Since living a soft life is all about living stress-free (or as close as you can), try diffusing some essential oils. Not only do they smell good, you can also use some that are good for calming, like lavender.
Meditate
Last but not least, to lower my stress levels, I like to incorporate meditation into my soft life morning routine.
Living a soft life is also about living slower instead of always go go go. That’s what makes it more comfortable.
Take some time in your morning to just take some deep breaths and take it all in. Try to push all of your thoughts away about everything you need to do. It takes practice, but it’s definitely worth it.
